Communication design seeks to attract, inspire, create desires and motivate people to do or think something using words, images, artifacts, spaces, sound, and movement. Your job is to explore and create original concepts—not merely to emulate others' ideas (although others will inspire you)—and to expand your ideas about what it is to communicate.
Is the fact that our name comes up at the end of each post as "Posted by ____" not enough? But furthermore, will do :)

A logical query, and I agree that for the majority of cases that is indeed, like you say, 'more then enough', but occasionally, I have found that people have given themselves usernames that do not correspond to names on my class list, or only vaguely correspond, and for that reason, I ask for a name, so that my task is made easy when trying to associate the post to the person.
